Suggestions re camcorder, trip with limited pc access

    ok I am not sure this is the right forum, but doesn't seem to suit photography, or gadgets

    I want to buy a camcorder for the trips I am taking, especially russia. iin that case not bringing laptop so limited access to a pc to download if a hardd rive
    still tempted to get a hd one, maybe the jvc 130 as its on offer at 300 quid. any one with experience got and suggestions, or a camcorder they would recommend

    choices are dvd, hybrid or hd I guess. Not into spending mad money put have put money away to get which ever might be best . mini dv would mean carrying them around ? and don't want to buy somethign that instantly dates. though
