Check with the exam secretary of your college, he should be able to tell you and it could last for 2 to 3 weeks depending which subjects are taken. what you will need is a good book or your ipod with earphones , of course as you sit outside the exam room. your duties include escorting candidates to the loo so as they are not cheating. And setting the room out each morning with the visiting invigilator. Not sure what the rate is. good luck if you take the job.

I've done the job twice before.....it is a nice easy job especially as we smuggled a little tv, ps2 and games in to our little office outside the exam centre. You might not be as fortunate so just bring an ipod packed with music also.

My 1st time doing the job i was assigned to the leaving cert. but my exam centre/section finished after a week so i only got €150 or so.......
My 2nd year doing it i again attented the leaving cert. but that year my exam centre went on for 2/3 weeks so i was paid about €360.

The pay depends on the amount of exams you get to do, or so it did in my old school. Never did it myself, but I'd say bring a few books and an ipod.

Is it on a first come first serve basis, like can I go put my name down the first day of 5th year cause I know a lot of people said they were gonna do it next year and I really want to do it.

Yeah in fairness, you could use the time it takes to do that looking for a summer job that lasts more than 2 weeks ;)

Ye, it's a job you can doss on and get **** money or you could get a 9-5 job which will last your through the summer and get about 9-10 euro an hour but those jobs require effort;)

Basically you'd be better off getting a job for the summer where you get decent pay, it's also better work experience as well to have down on your cv, 3 months working in a shop will look nicer than 2 weeks of being a state exam attendant lol.

Well I've had a job in a really laid back shop since November where I do nothing, I work off my own will. But I just love money so if it means another 300 euro to listen to my ipod for two hours I'll do it. I'm that hardworking.

Its the minimum wage for your age. Like for example if you're 16 you'll get paid €6.06 an hour, and if you do like say 2&1/2 hours you'll get €15.15 PLUS an extra 15 minutes pay.

Thinking of an accountancy and perhaps an entrepreneur.
The latter is a long stretch but best to have hopes high =]
