I've got it into my head to try teach myself a bit on the harmonica. Gonna try learn from youtube, and net lessons...
Anyone on here play? Never played one before so just lookin for advice on what key to buy, etc.

If someone could recommend a cheapish one on thomann that'd be great!

    Cheers

I'm a bit of a harmonica player and learned the way you're planning to go about it, just through free internet "lessons". I'm a huge blues fan so that helped in learning how to solo on the harp. I would recommend something along the lines of a Hohner special 20 in the key of C major. It's a diatonic or 10 hole harmonica, probably the most common type used in blues. They are relatively cheap so i'm not too sure whether thomann would be worth it when you add on the €15 postage, you should be able to pick one up for around €30 in Dublin. Just to note, dont buy "cheap" harmonicas that you get free with books and the like, they are considerably more difficult to play than the Hohners or the likes of Lee Oskar etc. It's one of those instruments that's quite easy to get the basics but needs a lot of work to master.
What kind of music are you into by the way, is there any particular style of harmonica playing you're hoping to play?
Hope that gets you started anyway:pac::pac:
