Using text from RTE BBc web sites etc

    If you quote 'RTE' etc if you used there text on your web site, would you get away with that under copyright?

    You'll still have to get permission and RTE in particular insist on having a logo of a certain size and shape with it afaik

    It should be safe to quote a paragraph or two from news and other sites without braking copyright law, or at least not in any meaningful way.
