im in the same boat, dunno what to buy as im not up to date with lcd's that much. i have got my ps3 so wanted to get a good tv to maximise performance.
whats the difference in these contrast ratios wat does that mean??
and u no the way some have a shiny screen, and some a matt screen - which would b better??
shiny ones would reflect everythin so on a sunny day i'd imagine u'd see urself in the reflection,
but i've seen matt ones before and you can only really look at them either straight on or a couple of degrees to the left or right and then it starts to go black when looking at it from a sharp angle, i no i'd b lookin at it straight on but if there was a crowd of pple over u can just imagine the fights over the "best" seats!!

The 32" Samsung 1080p is a nice set, if you get it from powercity then a 3 year warranty is included in this price. 37" (and all other sizes) have an optional 3 year warranty for extra cost. At 32", 1080p is not that noticeable from 1080i - it's when you get into 40" and above that it becomes clearer. The 37" LG is a pretty nice panel though. Personally though, Samsung has the best images. However, the best thing to do before you buy is have a look at the different panels, in different shops and branches, with different lighting conditions and programs etc.

Regards, contrast ratio's, this is basically the number of "levels" the TV can output between a pure black image and a pure white image. The higher this number, the better able the TV is to reproduce light/colour/shading detail of images clearer. So higher ratio is better.

Is the difference between 720p and 1080p that noticable on a 32 inch LCD screen?

Depends on how far away you're sitting and what you're using it for. For example, if you wanted to use it as a monitor there'd be a definite difference.

I bought the 40" in Power city, Blanchardstown for €1339 a week ago.
The starting price was €1449 which included a DVD player. I said I did not want the player and got the sales guy to drop the price to €1339.

It is a brilliant set and I have not noticed any issues with the shiny screen. The picture on digital is brilliant but on analogue a bit disappointing. The blacks are brilliant. I never noticed black colours before, they must have been grey, LOL
