Hi, I just set up a webcam at work to remotely view some equipment and it has been working fine from any desktop browser. However i would find it useful to be able to view it from my nokia N95 8gb phone.
the camera is a d-link dcs900 and when I log to the web address on the phone it brings up the correct page but is blank where the video feed is. I was wondering what (if anything ) I need to upgrade on the phone to get this to work.
    any suggestions welcome.

hi the web access requirements to view the video feed needs a Java-Enabled or ActiveX compatible Web Browser, so it looks like they use a special 'viewer application' which loads into a supported browser for you to view the video feed

the N95 web browser, while pretty good, itsn't a fully featured desktop browser so it looks like it can't support the video feed as it is unable to load the required 'viewer application'

unless you can try and see if it offers a streaming version that is compartible with the Real Video app on the hanset...

    Thanks Dubwireless for your help.
You are correct in that a viewer came bundled with the webcam that i loaded onto a machine at work. It is fully featured and you can make changes to the camera settings etc after you log in with a password. on other browsers ( both firefox and internet explorer) you can see the camera but it is not streaming. it is only a snapshot in time ( that you can update by refreshing the browser). This is actually allright as it gives you the date and time on the screen and all i need to see is the status of what he camera is seeing, at any point in time as the information changes very slowly.
I will do some research and see if i can find a mobile browser that will support this.
