At weekends, I head off to our mobile home in Clogherhead, Co. Louth. I have a laptop and no telephone line [and never will].

What are my best options to to get broadband?

Mobile data services from 3, O2, Vodafone. Around 30euro per month with fair usage clauses. Or possibly wireless if available in the area - try ICE, Digiweb, Irish Broadband etc etc. Google is your friend!

I went with mobile BB from O2 ... 30 day trial so you can trial it when home

    10gbs download a month

went with 3 myself today, much cheaper than 02 or vodafone over a year.

49 for the modem, against 150 from vodafone (stick type).
then 20 a month for a year, was turned right off 02 and vodafone by their intro 3 month deal which then rises (doubles in vodafones case)

I've just heard too many bad things about not being able to connect with three and some other horror stories and that made me steer clear of them ..

seems good do far, it's not lightning fast but appears as fast as when i was on eircom for boards and email, bit of youtube etc.
I don't generally do any downloading except for SW updates etc so it seems like it is going to be fine for me.

This is my test from earlier on:
