SD Card photo problem

My friend has this strange problem with her new SD Card in her camera.

She can view the taken photos on the camera LCD, but when transferred to PC, some of the photos seem to be corrupted, with only part of the photo been displayed and the rest blank (grey).
I tried using different software/cable & PC but the same results.
It seems the photo's are corrupt but I don't understand why they are viewable on the camera LCD.
Perhaps because the resolution is lower and it only samples every n'th pixel.

The card I think was from Aldi, and I also got one from there which gave problems.

Anyone had any similar experiences ?

    Cheers,
    Ray.
