One thing that has annoyed me all my life

Is the COUNTY clare/cavan/monghan wherever. You ask someone where they are from and they say COUNTY wherever to distinguish themselves from the 1000 or so people who live in the town of the same name.

Its happened to me loads of times where I've said "oh you're from donegal/tiperrary/cork" and the person is like "OH MY GOD NO I AM FROM COUNTY DONEGAL/TIPP/CORK/WHEREVER". Sorry I offended you :rolleyes:

Get over it and go back to coppers.

I don't get what annoyed you... is it the fact that people say the word "county" in front of where there from??

I think it's the difference between Monaghan the town and County Monaghan.. the county.

Actually the whole "the pale" thing has always done my chops in. I dont think i've ever heard anyone but mucksavages use it.
