    Hi..
Just wondering, if I want a solid wood floor to finish level with surrounding floors what do I need to leave?. I've been told 2" would be fine.. What have other folks done ??

    Cheers

    that sounds excessive

    boards tend to be 18-25mm

remember to allow concrete to dry at rate of 1mm per day

if using over under floor heating better to use a semi solid board

thats if u lay the flooring directly down on concrete.

what i tend to do is, build a wooden frame on top of the concrete sub floor.like a stud partition, laid on the floor. then i anchor pin to the floor, after levelling up of course. then insulate between. then plywood across the top and then lay the wooden flooring. Nice wooden suspended floor affect.

depth required would be 4" for the 4"x2"s, 18mm for the ply and 18mm for the boards
