Place Name Issues - "Saint" & Gaelic Names

    Hi,

I just purchased a Medion GoPal P4220 with Navteq maps.

I'm happy with it, on the whole, but one thing that infuriates me is the difficulty of knowing how to enter a specific place name.

    Abbreviations:
If there is "Saint" in the name it can be down as "Saint" or "St.", possibly other abbreviations as well that I haven't come across yet.

    Gaelic:
In the middle of an entire estate named in English, it bafflingly changes to Gaelic for one street. I know a lot of people in that street and they all give their address with the streetname in English.

I borrowed a Garmin to compare the two side by side and found this had the exact same issue in the same places.

How do you guys workaround this, or do you just live with it?
Is there some rule of thumb?

    Thanks in advance.
