    am i better off using 2 x 2gig or 4x 1gig ram

    Probably 2x2gb, more room for expansion, and cheaper if you decide to upgrade to 8 in the future.

    use 2x2gb for 2 reasons,

    1, Not all motherboard like using 4 x 1gb
    2. 2x2gb means you have an upghrade path without needing to scrap the ram.
