Hi, was wondering if anyone can help??

We have 3 Cats: Male, Female and 1 of their kittens (1 of the 4). The kitten is 11 weeks old, and it was decided that the mother Cat be Spayed.. She went in for the op today, and has come out fine, but we have a problem regarding the Kitten!

The kitten, also Female, is usually very quiet rarely even meowed! But since mother cat has returned from the Vet all she does is Hiss and meow very loudly. Especially at the mother cat whom she refuses to go near or allow near her!! And if placed near her the kitten will attempt to attack!:(

This is confusing both mother cat and Kitten, Mum Cat keeps approaching the kitten; trying to lick her, even tried to nurse her (despite the hissing and claws)!!
It is also confusing the baby Kitten, she is calling and crying for mother cat!! I know there may be some confusion regarding smell, she smells like the vets and a little like the antiseptic, but this is beyond a little confusion!! and she's been home a good 9-10 hours by now!!
The male cat seems fine with her!

Is this normal?? Does anyone have any ideas on getting baby kitten to relax??

Hi. It seems as if your problem is
solved so this is just for reference.
I have two cats and have noticed that
if they're separated for even short
amounts of time (couple of days), they
are all suspicious and territorial with each
other. I suppose they have no pack
instinct that glues them together as
    more than a flimsy unit.

    :)
