I'm just wondering, I haven't started yet, I'm due to start in a few weeks, I'll be there for 10 or so weeks, however during that ten weeks I'll need to take a bit of time off (I'm hoping to head to a festival in Europe), ie just a thursday, friday and monday- has anyone worked with the civil service over the summer (CO post), do you think it'd be difficult for me to wrangle the time off...? I know I'm covering and all, but 3 days...is that much to ask...?
    Thanks in advance.

You should have no problems unless your direct line manager is a bit of a stickler.. Most people accept that you will need some time off.

You might not get paid for them tho

You will be entitled to at least 2 days annul leave.

    Hi OP,

I worked as a CO two summers ago and I was worried with the fact that I had a weeks holiday booked for July but I was delighted to learn that you get 4 days paid leave with your contract. With flexi time, I also managed to work up a further 3 days so dont worry, you will be able to make the festival!!
