Electric, Cordless or Petrol STRIMMER?

    Help needed please!!:D

    Ive no big money available to spend on a strimmer but unfortunately I have to get one, this place is seriousely getting out of hand, and I can only go so far with the mower.

    Which one would anyone recommend and why? Are there any pro's or cons?

    Not enough info. What size is the garden, what is in it ( weeds, docks, thistles) and how often do you need to cut it. Are you planning to make a lawn or just keep a rough area under control?

    You could try to hire one for a few days, try a good hire shop and they should advise you on the model/type that may suit.

    its going to be used for tidying the kerbs where the lawnmower wont go, and about an hour or two general keeping up appearances:D Its mainly grass but its high at the moment, but once done can be kept short with the right equipment. Thanks a mil for replies.

    You still don't say how big but assuming a standard suburban garden, then petrol would be overkill. Either electric or cordless will do the job, if price is the main consideration then expect to pay €100 minimum for a half decent cordless whereas electrics can be had for less than €20 with a decent mid range about €50.

    was thinking electric would end up being the thing in the end..........but I just hope they wont break the bank using electricity!!

    BTW couldn't specify size of place, its rental, and havn't a clue tbh!! I have a nice (sloped) lawn, but at the front of the house and along the driveway of about 100 mtrs its all sloped with high grass and about 10 ft wide or so. Then theres the bushes that need to be kept clear etc etc:(
