Hotel Splendid, Bedici, Montenegro

    Anyone stayed here. Possibly spending a week and Croatia and a week in the above hotel in Montenegro. Reviews on tripadvisor are seriously different. 5 star rating followed by a 1 star rating. Can't decide whether to do the two weeks in Croatia (Hotel Croatia in Cavtat) or a week in each...

    Can't comment on that hotel, But I did stay in the Hotel Montenegro in Becici 4 star Which is part of the same hotel group and it was grand. Friendly staff, Cleans rooms and nice breakfast. From what i remember the hotels are close to each other on the beach front. each hotel has a private area on the beach that you will bring a hotel card to, to get access to and towels.

    Becic itself is about a 20 - 30 min walk from the main town where everything is. There aint much bar the hotels and a few shops in becic. The walk itself is nice. lots to see and plenty of shops and markets but they aint the cheap.. If you dont fancey a walk you can pop onto a little train that takes regular trips over and back.

    We where there for a quiet holiday so didn't hit too many of the clubs. But there are a few along the strip that seemed ok. Plenty of resturants with nice food. Lots of fish dishes.

    Just to highlight some of my bad points, long bus trip from dubrovnik airport to becici, Not many english speakers, Found it kinda expensive. the worst an 8 hour bus trip to split airport due to debrovnik closed due to forest fires :(

    Taking those bad points out. It is a very nice place to visit but not for more then a week :p

    Oh and if you do go, Dont buy bottled water in the pool side bar (€2) jump the fence and get it in the shop on the beach (50 cent) for the same 500ml bottle :o
