Sound delay on surround sound from Sky HD

    Hi Folks,
I'm sending audio from my Sky HD Box to my Samsung surround sound system via a optical digital audio cable.
However, the sound through the speakers is about one second behind the picture. Now, I had a look through the sound setting on the Sky box, and it give you an option to delay the sound (from 0ms to 200ms) - but this is making the problem worse, I would need a setting of -1000ms!
So I need to make the sound come out of the speakers faster, or I need to delay the picture by about a second. Ideally, I'd just like it to work properly!

    Anybody any ideas?

    Cheers.

I soft restarted it a few times. Does hard resetting make a difference?
I don't have to it hand right now, else I'd try it, obviously. :)

I didn't buy a crappy cable by the way, £32 (~€50?) or so for the 1.2m optical digital cable.

Have you tried using scart cables and phono cables from the box I know you loss the 5.1 but this sounds like a processor fault either in HD box or Samsung surround sound system.
