We need your help. Some of you may be aware that Ireland is hosting an international Jamboree, a BIG scout camp, in Punchasetown in August this year. There will be approx 12,000 participant on site for 10 day.

What we need is doctors, paramedics, nurses and just about anyone with medical training to volunteer and help the medical team for this event. We will take you for as many days as you can give from 1 to 14 what ever you can afford.

If you are interested you can register at http://www.jamboree2008.ie/register/staff.html for the team or email the team leader Niamh on niamhmclain@jamboree2008.ie.

Its going to be great hopefully you can help and be a part of it.

    Thanks for reading.

I would suggest contacting the st john ambulance brigade, the red cross, the order of malta and teh local hse ambulance base. for such large events you have to have a certain amount of ambulance cover and these lads should be able to provide it

there's not many docs here, tbh.

You could try the emergency services forum? They have ambulance people who post there.

Another option may be to make contact with the Civil Defense, the have ambulance service as well you may get some bodies there.

hi op. to the best of my knowledge. you are required by law to liase with the HSE about this and the local ambulance base will let you know how many first aid, docs, nurses, paramedics etc... you need for an event of this size.

Can't really answer on standard of ambulances with Civil Defense as I'm in the rescue service, but basic I would say as a guess.
