Remember the MacFixit advice: The combo installer has a better track record with resolving issues, and remember to have no apps or utilities running during the update... It's about 520mb for the full download from Apple.

I might try it myself later on, I'm keen to see if my MBP might behave a little better after it. Although, I usually wait a week for these things, so everyone else can nuke their Macs and then come up with clever solutions for my benefit. Mine is a production machine so I can't afford downtime :-(

198mb on MBP, normally run software update once a week in the background.

Anyone heard of any other issues apart from the Adobe one? I don't use that software so should be ok.

After update you cannot access the iTunes music store or download podcasts either if you use a PAC file, it causes massive cpu spikes then a crash, my first ever apple problem since getting a Mac, and since thats the only way I can access the internet at home a really annoying one.

Downloading it now, upgrading from 10.5.0 that I installed today (yeah I'm kinda late to the whole Leopard party). I have no idea if it's an old Leopard bug or what but the download is taking about 5 hours... Tried downloading iTunes earlier and it was taking ages too. Hopefully 10.5.3 will fix that at least!

EDIT: I take it back. My internet just woke up. Apparently it wasn't Leopard's fault at all.

I had to re-install isync to get it to work after the update.

No PS here so fairly safe but have noticed some random behaviour from my stacks. Sometimes clicking on a folder in a stack opens the directory in a new Finder window, other times not but it seems to have fixed itself now. Maybe it's just me :o

Working fine over here but I did the combo update from 10.5.0.

So far the update has been good for me, though it's hard to tell since my MacBook Pro has been very unstable over the last few months (even the last few days have seen the odd hard crash, my left fan failing and then resurrecting itself, and a series of issues with MySQL). But it seems to have settled down now. I place a lot of faith in doing the single-user start-up and doing fsck_hfs -fyr (which rebuilds the 'catalog file' (rendering DiskWarrior pretty much obsolete)) after every hard crash and every major software installation, as well as repairing disk permissions regularly. Oh, and always using Combo Updaters with a Safe Boot. It's practically a must-do.

It's possible that I don't use any combination of apps or activities that are affected by any of the bugs, though Apple does seem to be going for a strategy of larger, better-tested, more stable updates rather than smaller, more frequent and more bug-laden updates than they used to. I'm very glad I didn't get to Tiger until much later in the release cycle, and even that had some show-stoppers getting into the releases every once in a while.
