Does anybody know anything about wiring a pedal into a guitar Matt Bellamy/Jack White style? I've been thinking about doing something stupid and unnecessary like this... gonna get a Danelectro DC 59 and go nuts, since they're so cheap and cool looking.

I reckon something like a big muff or booster would be a wonderful and ridiculous addition to an already oddball guitar.

Soldering wise it would be fairly easy but I would imagine a fair bit of routing my be involved to get the PCB board and 9v battery in the back. What you might consider would be a modboard from Guitar Fetish http://store.guitarfetish.com/modboards.html . I haven't tried one yet but at that price you cant go too wrong.

Yeah I have them in the back of my mind alright. Need to do a bit of research about them, see what people make of them and all that.

I had a thought to put in an active pickup circuit using a proper ECC83 stage... but I couldn't ever figure out how to do it without running 150-250Vdc into the guitar. Anyone know where to get a 250V battery? :pac:

You can get some things that replace your tone knob with a bit of distortion and other simple effects. They're not that expensive, I've never used one but I have read reviews and seen them in catalogues.
I can't imagine it being that hard to get the electronics into a guitar but you might need to make the control cavity a bit bigger.
