Flicking around the DTT channels last night I put on the interactive service to see if anything was new. Hitting the red button brought up the Solitaire game and you had to bo backwards through it to get back into Aertel. Pressing green did nothing, and pressing yellow brought you into some strange hybrid TV guide thats full of latin and generic holding text. They also have some symbols up there to signify programmes that carry subtitles and have audio description (only seems to be working on RTÉ ONE at present). You cant scroll through the TV guide, but it does feature all the channels on the trial, apart from the Oireachtas TV channel and the HD test. Try it out.

Are you on the original trial list then? I only got in as an afterthought from the Dept. First I heard about an interactive box.

On the lyngbox the MPEG4 test channels work. Red, green, yellow do nothing. Blue offers to rename channel!

It never works when you just lightly press the button once like you would for any other remote function. I have to press and hold down Yellow for two seconds before it comes on. Same as I had to do with the Red button to get Aertel to work (which has now changed to the Solitaire game by default... You'll see "Loading..." in the centre of the screen before it comes on and it appears to be quite quick but at the moment only gives Now & Next info for all channels, but all the information is wrong.

Just got a mail back from DMCNR telling me only a very small number of boxes went to triallists. Oh well.
