Have anyone been to Cuba and did you get any vaccinations ?? I know there are a few recommended, but do you really need them? Maybe Hep A ??

There are no essential vaccinations required for Cuba or by the Cuban Government. However it's never a bad idea to get the Hep A one. I was told the last time i was there that a diphtheria is also a good idea. Typhoid is also another one if you will be spending significant time in rural areas.

The food is grand. I've never been sick from it but i wouldn't drink anything other than bottled water. Bring your own general medicines if you can as things for something as simple as a headache can be hard to get in certain areas thanks to the yankee imperialists.

Well we are going to a resort in Varadero for 2 weeks then a few nights in Havana. We might also do a small bit of traveling, I wouldnt think we would go too rural though. What did you get?

If you are just sticking to Havana and Varadero then you should be fine without vaccinations. Just use a bit of common sense regarding water (ie no ice cubes). The food is fine, they cater for Western tourists, so it shouldn't give you any ill-effects. If you are travelling outside these area's at all then I would play it safe and get vaccinations. Your doc should be able to advise on what ones you would need.

Enjoy, you will have a great time, Cuba is fabulous. The beaches in Varadero are the best I have ever seen and Havana is just amazing.

Well i got the whole package because i was all over the world. Cuba was just one of my stops. BUt from what you are doing you should be fine without any of just the the Hep A.

Try venture off away from Veradero other than the trip to Havana. Trinidad, Santiago de Cuba, Baracoa and Guardalavaca are all good places to see too.
