Dublin was one of the best spots in the world to get pissed twenty years ago with many people flocking from the four corners of the globe to sit in our bars and get hammered the Irish way. I'm twentyfive years old, and even I remember ten years ago when I would go down to the local to get my da out of the pub at 7oc on a Sunday evening and everyone in the pub would be locked; the guitars, bodhrans and tins whistles would be going, and everyone would sing ballads and dance madly and the kip would be blue with cigarette smoke. There was no such thing as inhibition as eveything you did was fine as long as you were part of the craic, it was a grand time indeed! Times have changed since then; there's no more smoking in public, No more buzz in the pubs everything is hush! hush!, No more rock and roll, and no more alcoholics falling over tables with piss all down the front of there cloths!!

Things have changed since then in more ways than just our local pubs. Ballads are now reduced to entertaining posh tourists in temple bar, Rock music is three self loathing teenages in a candle lit Eamon Dorans playing depressing "progressive" Indie, and to drink more than three pints is a disastrous way to approch women . The "craic" is something we talk about in retrospect after our weekend is over on bebo! and we're all back in work nice and early on Monday morning even though you had a **** weekend and you know you had.

I know this better than anybody simply because I have lived in town all my life right slap bang in the centre of it. Yes, I am a northsider but if that means scumbag, bagsnacher, junkie or anything else you can think of, you are mistaken. I love music and I mean really love music. I have been singing all my life and I have been in many bands and have played every county in Ireland and in the north too. I am a solid rhythm guitar player playing for seven years and yes I'm trying to start a band once again with like minded people who love music and it doesnt matter whether you can play like Eric Clapton, John Bonham, or John Entwhistle. If you can play and want to start a band that will blow the **** out of the stinking depressing water that Dublins music scene is drowning in pm me or leave a comment and I will get back to you.

You definitely have a mental problem or were raised in a dysfunctional family by having a “nostalgia” for your father been drunk and a 15 years old son going on a Sunday evening to get his father out of the pub and enjoying watching people falling off the tables being sick of alcohol overdose. What is wrong with you, are you for real? “and the kip would be blue with cigarette smoke” yeah, support smoking, very healthy, no respect for the non smoker and your lungs.

What does a 15 years old have to do in a Pub anyway witnessing this decadent environment, if you miss the happy moments of a band playing ballads and everyone happy, that’s Ok, but you can do this without “passing out”. Correct me if I’m wrong, but Sundays should be a FAMILY day, and the idea of a father expending his Sunday in a bar getting drunk and smoking his lungs is the most irresponsible thing I have ever heard, even worse if you approve and miss these days, you will make a terrible father kid, and I call you kid cause I’m, older than you.

Does your family knows what did you just published? What a shame! “and to drink more than three pints is a disastrous way to approach women” that is just sick, do you expect a woman with self respect to actually enjoy a drunk man approaching her? Man, your mind is twisted, one thing is to drink ,have fun and if you meet a girl and you are both drunk and enjoy each other’s company, another is to “Drink more than 3 pints” and expect all women to open their legs for you and give you their number… Sick, just sick, you are sick, you are or will become a drunk, just like your father, and if you ever have kids of your own, please, do the right thing and raise them according to their age and alcohol free until they reach their legal age.
