Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

metal 'arch' to train climbers onto gable wall?

    I want to grow a self clinging climber on the gable end of the house. Theres a concrete path running round the perimeter of the house and I don't really want to cut a section out of it.
    What I want to do is train climbers up a series of 'half arches' running along the side of the house. Once they bridge across and reach the wall, they will find their own way after that.
    The path is 1m wide.
    Theres bound to be a purpose made product that will do the job. Where can I find such a thing??

    Well, can't find anything suitable. What is available is poor quality rubbish. Other option is to go for wrought iron - but thats expensive.

    Will probably go with two of these =>rose-arch.jpg


    At least they are sturdy, I can leave house wall untouched (no drilling required) and can also run wire between arch at front and back - and train climbers up in between.

    Don't sink that wood in the ground - it will rot within a year. Use four of those metal sockets to protect it !

    Agree with ye there for sure. 2 x bolt down metposts and 2x concrete in metposts for each arch.
