Its pretty nuts, 6point Orks are just insane. 180 Orks withs Nobz and Klaws for 1290 points, thats insane! Add Ghazkull for his 2 turn 6inch WAAGGHH and you have an army that can blitz the battle field, get full close combat on turn 2 and just stomp anything, or go for dual klaw bike boss, still 2 turns of waagghh, and you get 2 very meaty bosses in close on turn 2, with da boyz on turn 3.

Their pretty broken imo, I've play tested them a fair few times and the simple truth is you cant beat 180 orks unless you build your entire army around killing them (mass flamers + Ordnance), Tournament armies (ie: fairly balanced) have no end of trouble against them.

    They also have Bike+Klaw boss, 125points, S10, T6, 4+ inv save, broken?

Also had a fair bit of success with dual Big Mek with Kustum Force Field, 9 killa kanz and 2 Deff Dredz. Old Zogwort has also proven very effective against Space Marines or Chaos (Turned Calgar into a squig one game, very amusing).

Someone will do it. I can think of a few who've had crazy, crazy Tyranid swarms .

200 Isnt that many, I present:

    Full list of pics here:

And any infantry heavy guard army will commonly have over 200 men in it if they want to play battles of 2500+ points, especially if they use conscripts (50 men, 200 point, yum).

Actually I do have a Chaos army that I think could take on the 180 orks. 2 DPs with Lash of Submission and 3 pie plates. One dose of the lash and those 30 orks are now all bunched together, add pie plate and its goodbye most of them.

I haven't tried it against that particular opponent, but I'm fairly confident of its effectiveness. Its an ugly, ugly army to field.

    2 Deamon Princes with Lash
    2 squads of 1k Sons
    2 Defilers
    Possessed Vindicator
2-3 dreadnoughts, depending if you're playing 1500 or 1700 point games.

Dual Lash and 3 pie's is a problem for any army, its one of those armies you always feel very guilty fielding, its sickeningly effective. Another solid anti hoard backbone for an army would be Chaos Daemons, along the lines of:
    The Masque
    3 squads of 3-5 Flamers

The masque can cast Pavance of Slaneesh (same as lash except you have to roll to hit) 3 times, and eah time a squad of flamers torch them for 4+ to wound, no armour or cover saves, and their jump infantry so they can get right up close. Using 3 man squads only comes to 415 points, and will make a considerable hole in a hoard army. Only problem is unless other squads arrive beside them they will be in close combat after 1 turn of firing, but they will easily make their value. Or you could do the triple pie plate by using a few Soul Grinders with Phlegm (or both if your really mean, and remember in the HQ alone Chaos Daemons can get 6 lash's (3 on the Masque, and then 3 slaneesh heralds)).

Yep. I've dubbed that army of mine The Abomination, and won't field it unless my opponent requests me to, to try it out.

Looking at your army you could very easily make it pure Slaneesh by replacing 1k sons with Noise Marines and Sonic Blasters, would make it more flexible too imo. Any 3+ save army will be decimated by the pies, and the sonic blasters rate of fire is simply devestating against hoards. You lose the inv save, but you get more manouverability, and can fight in close combat fairly effectively. Power weapon champ is also fairly nasty in the noise marines (I5), and blaster masters are great for pinning.

1k Sons are in for 2 reasons ... the 4+ inv save and the AP3 bolters. That does horrible things to power armour and with the ammount of marine armies out there, its useful.

You can do nasty things like walk into just rapid fire range, burn a squad and then have a Prince lash the squad back out of range again so you don't get charged.

Against Hordes, the lash and pie plate combo should be fairly sufficient. Feel free to tweak it though and see how you find it.

While reading through codex orks again last night, i kept thinking, something or someone is missing, so i referenced the older codices and i figured it out much to my annoyance... They've gotten rid of Nazdreg!!!

The 4+ inv is definately useful, but the AP3 bolter is limited in use due to the 3 pie plates of AP2 or AP3, and the dual lash, so the loss in AP3 firepower isnt that huge unless your actually fighting space marines (where everything is 3+ or better), and I find the extra shot per troop is very nice for hoards, or even light vehicles, a stationary sonic blaster volley on a squad of landspeeders or equivalent doesnt be long crippling/destroying them.
