The outbreak has begun. You need to arm yourself but realistically speaking, not everybody is going to have access to a firearm, or ever going to get it, so how else would you prepare yourself and where would you get these tools from?

Well, right now I'm at work and if I saw some moaners slowly creep by the window I'd find something useful here.

Right, I've got a healthy set of screwdrivers, a stanley knife, keyboards to smack them over the head with, lots of cables (presumably to tie them down), and a lot of big heavy lead batteries which I could set fire to and use as acid bombs.

Everything else is PC's, laptops, and printers. I could probably make a barricade from them.

If it happened right now i'd be pretty screwed. I'm in a 3rd floor office. I'd reckon the best approach would be to cut the lifts out and then theres only one emergency exit stairs to worry about. Get someone here to watch the stairs while I tried to make something makeshift.

If i wasnt in work the best thing to do would be to try get to some hardware store. Its the best shot at it you could have for something to defend yourself with. All sorts of implements there both pointy and blunt for you to defend yourself with.

Dumbells or Barbells here for me :D. Although upstairs is alot of electrical tools so they could come in handy. Id agree with c - 13 though, hardware store would be best bet.

thankfully I'm in the pheonix park, so it'd be either over the the Garda HQ to raid their evidence locker/weapons store or into the Army Barracks next door for something heavy.

That said, I'm a bit feicked trying to get to either of them. ....
    ...
...the coat stand is kinda pointy at the top. Other than that I've noting. :(

5th floor office myself so a bit screwed, but there are a lot of PC's around to throw at them until I could get to the boot of the car and get the wheel brace and use that...other than work, I've been following the Zombie Survival Guide at home (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Zombie_Survival_Guide) so I should be sorted there :) Bring them on!!

I'm in an office in a woods along a river bank, I have access to screw drivers and a lump hammer in the room. I'd then make my way away from the city (obviously) and toward the sisters gaff where there's a semi-auto shotgun.

.....But the best thing ever......I just discovered a hovercraft in one of the sheds here yesterday! I have no idea if it works, but if it does :D
Try get me in the middle of the river!
    Stay tuned!

Remember, the key is to keep your distance. Long ranger weapons are better.

Remember that zombies dont absorb damage the way we do. Blunt trauma might knock them back, but thats all. IED's would probably be good weapons, flammable cleaning fluids, using mops as bo staffs, things like that. Flinging computer equipment too!

Im in a first floor office. Provided the Zombies were coming from the main entrance and I managed to spot them I could get to my car pretty quickly as its litterally just outside the window where I sit and the window is well big enough to get through. Id mow a few of them down on the way out. We are right beside UCD so I might try and get into their sports facilities for an initial weapons pick up (Javelines etc).

If I was at home it would be straight accross to the hardware store in the shopping centre just accross from my apartments. Its only a short distance away. I should be able to get over there and get my supplies within a 10 minute time frame. Rakes, Sheers anything sharp and lots of chain. I think chain is a great weapon against the undead as not only could you use it for decapitations but it would also come in handy for climbing up to hiding spots which would be otherwise not be accesible.

It is indeed but don't be tempted to start swinging it around like a nunchuck and smack yourself in the... er... Ghoulies.*

    *see what I did there?

well i am at home right now, so I would prob go grab a Hurl. or go out to the shed and get a spade (should be able to use that well)
if not that I can get the scythe but I doubt it would be that easy to decapitate with it.

In my room right now, I have a shapend katana hanging on my wall and some deodorant and a lighter for a flame thrower..If the outbreak began while I was at work (electrician) I'd have angle grinders, chop saws, cutters, live cables, drills, scaffolding and screw drivers to use :D

In my room now, have two guitars lying here i could use one of those I suppose ! But what if I want to rock out when safe ? Other than that I've nothing heavy right at this very moment, builders doing a bit of work downstairs so I might grab a few hammers etc.

There is a Gun shop near me, I'm sorted.

I've got an extremely accurate long range rifle (deadly accurate up to about 200 metres) with a max range of 1 3/4 miles!!!!! .....but right now I've only got 150 rounds in the house BUT there are lots of gun clubs in Dublin, they would be the number one location for most people to get to.
We could then start our own red-neck possy's like in the Romero movies!
