    Hopefully this is not as bad as it sounds but just hearing of a fire in the mercantile any one close to confirm this ?

    Firefighters tackled a blaze at the Mercantile pub on Dame Street in Dublin this morning.
    Three sections of the fire brigade attended the blaze, which broke out just before 9am.
    One unit remains at the scene, where the fire has been contained. No one was injured in the blaze.

    It was a fire in the kitchen of a first floor apartment. The brigade were on the scen in minutes and brought it under control. Seeing as our event is in the downstairs room we shall be fine! (bring snorkel, flippers & armbands!)
