emmmmmm, everyone loves ben and jerry's ice cream, but did you ever stop and think about how horribal every bloody stupid flavour tub they make is, christ the tubs cost like €5 and they are all hidious with black chocolate, nasty cheap penny sweet type marshmelows

hb vanilla is far more enjoyable

but i think that haagen das cookies and cream is the cream da la cream

Black chocolate? You dare to criticise teh secks that is the chocolate Phish? I could eat them forever! (Not a fan of the marshmallow though.)

I think Phish food is pretty icky, far far too much sugar and practically no caramel. Baked Alaska is also disgusting, pure sugar again. Chocolate Fudge Brownie however is the ultimate ice cream, there is no doubt about that for me ;)

Notices your sig....just a couple of weeks!
    Best of luck!

Btw I agree on the B and J.
Only dublin mudslide and chunky monkey are passable.

Caramel Sutra is the only flavour I really like and I can never find it, or Caramel Chew Chew... Not mad into the really rich ones, bit sicky for my liking..

Both Caramel Sutra and Dublin Mudslide went to the Flavour Graveyard in 2004 and 2007 respectively, so wouldn't be expecting to see them around soon!!

I hate the caramel ones. I love Chocolate Fudge Brownie but the ultimate flavour would be chocolate ice cream from Chocolate Fudge Brownie, little fishies from Phish Food, brownies, and cookie dough. Make it happen Ben and Jerry!

I used to work in a Ben and Jerry's so got to "sample" the flavours quite often.

Choc Fudge Brownie Frozen Yoghurt just edges out it's ice cream counterpart imo.
The of course there's chocolate therapy. Most people find that too rich but I think they're just not hardcore enough

Although my absolute favourite was lemon sorbet - although I have a thing for lemon.

And to those people who made me make sundae after sundae - f*ck you!!

Drool! I had a sundae before with a huge brownie topped with Chocolate Therapy, hot fudge sauce, nuts and cream. I literally didn't have to eat again for 3 days. Good thing it was in New York though, because if I lived near the place I'd be obese.

Caramel Chew Chew, Cherry Garcia and Phish Food..mmm...

But I saw an ad for Baked Alaska and heard about another one this morning for Whirled Peace (or something...) But the Baked Alaska one is vanilla ice-cream with marshmallow whirls and white chocolatey polar bears :pac::pac:

I just tried Baked Alaska and it's yummy! Similar to phish food, in a white version. Much lighter and easier to eat.

My favourite is Half Baked but they don't seem to sell it here.

Surely these two points are contradictory?

Now surely if they were that horrible nobody would love B&Js, would they? As for HB vanilla, horrible, chemical and air filled muck.

Greatest B&Js I ever had was Jerry's Jubiliee - cherry and chocolate ice creams with cherries, fudge flakes and chewy chunks of brownies - now sadly in the Flavor Graveyard. :( Coffee Coffee Buzz Buzz was pretty good too - coffee ice cream with espresso bean fudge chunks - but you can't get it here any more.

YES! A scoop of Baked Alaska and a scoop of Phish food! Delicious!! AND you can make your white polar bears EAT your fish! Hours of entertainment right there! "Oh no, don't eat me..." CHOMP!

Never had a B&J that I likes - all far too sweet and sickly.

The lemon Sorbet, I'd like to try but never seen it.
    Do they do a vanilla?

    My dream job.

I had one of those sundaes like you janeybabe, my boyfriend bet that I wouldn't be able to eat it all. But of course I did. Ben & Jerry's is half price in Tescos at the minute so stock up!!!

LOVE Hagen Daaz cookies and cream, but my all time favourite ice cream is Hagen Daaz rum & raisin, pity you can't get it here :(

The best Hagen Daaz is Midnight Cookies. I don't think you can get it here. I had it in France last week.

The selection here is terrible, I love when you go away somewhere and there's B&J and Hagen Daaz shops everywhere. I'm easily pleased :p

Memories of Man U-Barca second leg, sitting down, big tub of Baked Alaska...my God I felt sick afterwards alright, but so worth it.

Remember the first one too, on ferry coming back from Wales, must have been all of 10 years ago!

Cookie Dough FTW. :) I'd get it more often, but seriously, the price is
extortionate- 6.50 for a 500ml tub(where I work, at least). It's only worth buying when it's half price (about 4 times a year, I'll let you know next time it is in Dunnes)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 283 ✭✭dee8839

The price is so high but its just so worth it sometimes!! I like Cookie Dough or Strawberry Cheesecake, not as rich as some of the others. Phish Food is just a bit much for me. I like the sound of Baked Alaska though! Went to a Ben and Jerrys ice-cream parlour in Montauk last year, got lemon sorbet and some minty one, in a waffle cone - amazing. The cone alone was a masterpiece!! But I'd never like to work there - you'd get sick of the stuff and the t-shirts were psychadelic tie-dye print!
