Ok so I've just left my job and had to hand back my brand new TDI Golf :(

My new job has no company car so i bought a 97 escort from a friend as a runabout. It needed a starter, battery, tyres and a few bits and bobs done but the price was right :p and did all the work myself bar the tyres.

Only thing I can't fix is the power steering leak, everytime I put fluid(ATF fluid as reccomended by ford) into the car it has a little wee.... The leak is at the rack and not the pump. So my question is would it be easy to change the leaky bits myself using scrappy bits or would an indy fit parts if I sourced them from a scrappy or are there any other fixes I could try myself? I've already tried a bottle of power steering leak fix

Thanks for any help or suggestions

What part of the rack is leaking? is it one of the pipes going to it? or is the p/s fluid leaking out the ends of the rack into the rubber boots?

based on your description it sounds like it might be a damaged hose or fitting, you'll need to find where its leaking from.
