Nice car, will definitely buy one some day. However the driver's seat in this one looks a bit ragged for 73k miles don't you think? Even the back seats have seen better days. I had a 1990 5 series a few years ago with leather; with 167k on the clock & the leather didn't look that worn.
Just an observation. A re-trim could do the trick.

I thought the same, could be the way the photo has been taken tho. If it goes for sub 10k it'd be a lot cheaper than what some of the dealers are asking. Also on an irish reg so no VRT to be paid.

My only worry is that the mileage of 73,00 th eclock doesn't look like the mileage the seats have seen.

    Exactly..
First thing I noticed, passenger seat appears more worn than I would have expected, 77? as for drivers could add '000's.

    Could be wrong..

No, i agree that you're right (although the car is 21yrs old), to be fair tho its still cheap, and its another bargaining point. You'd nearly reupholster it, leave the mileage and just enjoy it.

Maybe i'm being paranoid, but there's just something about the way that car sits that sets alarm bells ringing for me.

It didn't reach its reserve anyway.

I'd say the seats havent been treated with hide food enough and have cracked as a result. This is shown by the way the back seats have deteriorated despite the fact that they are rarely used, I never had anyone sitting in the back of my old 316. The drivers seat is frayed tho, that could have been caused by some fat b*stard driver squeezing in bast the bolster, common on sports seats.

i think the car sits alright. The suspension on these is fairly simple by modern standards anyway. Main problems are the trailing arm bushings. Rear wheel bearings are a pain to fix too.

It looks higher or taller than what it should be.

21 years can be very hard on the seats if they were not maintained with good leathercare products. That could be 21 years of hot summers to endure and it can dry out and crack if not protected.

I wonder do the insurance companies set a super high price the minute they hear BMW+M for any model?

It does look abit high alright at the front and looking at it from the back...
From the sider it looks like it's sitting down at the back though:confused:

M3s aren't a very low car anyway, An orginial one can look abit high when your used to seeing Sports lowered 60mm and on Alpinas...

Nice looking car though, engine looks clean too:)
Pity about the interior since M3 leathers are worth a fortune these days.
More than likely poor maintenence alright though since the back seat is so cracked even at the center section.

Cheap car though if it was anyway decent
