St Julians is a really nice area of the island, right next to Paceville, the party area of the north, filled with bars and clubs. Its about a 5 minute bus or about a 30 minute walk (beautiful walk along the coast) to Sliema another nice town, and about 10 mins on the bus from Valetta the capital. I stayed in Portomaso, just beside St Julians and in Sliema the second time. Its a really nice area of the island.

If you want to check out some other towns, I would recommend Mdina, its about a 20-30 minute drive from St Julians and its a beautiful, beatiful town. There is a restauraunt on the top of the hill called Fontenela, it offers Spectacular views (you can see the Hilton Tower in Potomaso from it) and awesome chocolate cake.
