I have an excel document and im using MS Query to query a MS SQL 2000 DB, im trying to use conditional formating within Excel but for some reason i it wont take affect on the cells that are getting data from the DB but the conditional formating will work on cells that are not coming from the DB!?

May be MS Query reformats the cells when it imports the data. Try putting the data into a different sheet and have the formatted cells reference the imported data.
