    Hi,
I have just got one of the marvellous Nokia N95s and I was wondering if anyone knew how to remove the line "WLAN Scanning Off" from the front screen, as I just cant figure it out.
Thanks for any help you can give me.
    :-)

    yea go to

    tools/settings/general/personalisation/standby mode.

But when you turn off the active standby, all the shortcuts will be gone.

But you still have 8 shortcuts:

D-pad up/down/left/right one assignable shortcut each

    Press centrebutton another one

    Softkey left and right

    Hold '0' starts browser

Oh plus: tap 'off' button lets you switch between profiles

    Etc etc...
Switching active standby on or off is mostly a taste issue - like having dozens of icons on your desktop or not.

Handy shortcut and not everybody knows it: holding # at standby screen alternates between the 'Silent' and 'General' profiles, on ALL the Nokias as far as I know. I use it a lot.

It worked on all of my Nokias so far: 7650, 3650, 6630, 6111, 5200, N95 8GB... Are you guys sure you're doing it right? :)

Edit: it works only on the standby screen!

You can just disable the wifi scanning plugin!

Turned on active standby just for testing this (I hate it otherwise), it still works! ;)
