Can anyone diagnose the cause of a heater getting stuck on hot the whole time....no matter where I set the knob at, its just hot air that comes out, and even when its turned off it still heats up the car, very uncomfortable in the hot weather!. My mechanic told me to go get a heater at the scrapyard, but the guy there said…

My mechanic told me to go get a heater at the scrapyard, but the guy there said its a specific part of the heater (like a 'switch' or something)....i might try to fix the problem myself if its only something small??!! could it only be a fuse problem?
