    Hi,

Here's a shameless plug for a documentary I was involved in making in Ethiopia earlier this year - being shown tonight (Monday) on RTÉ One at 11.35 pm.

Called My Big Idea, you can read about it on the RTÉ website. You might have seen some of the pictures I took there in the Random photo thread v3.0 and there's a whole bunch more over on flickriver.

Hope you can tune in and enjoy!

    Thanks,

    Hugh

Looking forward might be the wrong phrase, but I'll def be looking in. There was a strong piece in the Tribune yesterday about the situation.

Didn't see it but I can imagine ... famine is threatening again down south.

The subject matter in the doc is somewhat "lighter" though.

    Isn't reggae Jamaican?

Good stuff Hugh, looks like a good time was had. Shame about the pressure yoke!

good stuff hugh - just finished.... I'm sure i recognised some of the faces passing through the programme from your photo stream.

I had the good fortune to pay a visit there about 2 years ago - wonderful place. Fantastic people. I found a large part of their people haven't gotten so much as the backside in their trousers (literally!) but oh boy they are happy. I'd hope to make a return visit at some stage. I thought the programme presented a very pleasant picture of the country (perhaps a little too pleasant?). Although it must be said that the purpose of the programme i thought was served well by the footage i.e. the young lady's big idea. (her pressure cooker could have been mistaken for a missile launcher though! :D ) There are obviously many sides to the country and the programme i thought gave a nice view. Good piece of work though.

Well done again on your involvement.
