Both taken on top of the hill at Lough Gur on Friday evening (standard 3 exposure blend).

Not 100% happy with them myself so would welcome any comments/suggestions :)

    Cheers

Not sure if I like HDR as a genre, but I like no. 2 as an Image!

I do like #2, even though it may be a wee bit over-saturated for my taste. Nice composition.

    I don't get #1 at all I'm afraid!

To get a nice HDR image the trick is not to overdo.

have to say number 2 i really like - for number 1 i think it may be more of an issue with the overall composition than the hdr effect in terms of producing something thats pleasing to the eye. number 2 on the other hand has nice elements of a landscape and the hdr although subtle adds to the shot instead of detracts from it.

can you do HDR without a tripod? Is there issues with stitching pictures on top of each other when its handheld?

you can either fire them off if your camera is fast enough and hope theres no hand movement. Photomatix is a bit inconsistent at aligning if there is some movement.

Otherwise do your HDR from a single image -

Photoshop CS3 seems to automatically align photos for HDR brilliantly.
