    Im wondering if anyone can tell me why the points for theoretical physics in trinity is much higher than in UCD

    Bigger demand for the course - that's the only thing that affects points. They don't necessarily reflect any inherent difficulty in the course (though TP is difficult). The points are just a supply and demand system.
