Has any one watched this.? One of the families taking part clearly have no interest in the energy saving concept of the show. Think they just want to be on tv.

Would you be referring to the ones with a laundromat stacked up against a wall and the house-lights that are probably visible from the other side of the galaxy?

I knows her well. She has been trying to cash in on a Daily Mail article she was in last year. I was involved in the same article in that Mrs Bond appeared in and contributed to the same article.

Sounds like a cheap stunt for Emma Quinlan alright.

There was a big spiel in one of the papers where she was complaining that the producers wanted her reptiles to go without heat as part of the series. Eventually they agreed to leave the reptiles out of the experiment.

AFAIK the paper described her as having a modelling job using her snakes.

I reduced my carbon footprint by turning the TV off while the prog was on.

You probably also saved your eyes and ears from damage from being subjected to the sanctimonious preaching of the show.

Apart from the whole thing about one family being perfect and the other being nightmares, I think the show is a waste of time. It's missing the point. AFAIK the point is to show us that we can do these simple things like turn stuff off at nite and when we're not using them to dramatically reduse our carbon footprint. But the families are sitting in the dark half the time, walking miles to the bus stop, having cold showers and can only watch the tv for half an hour a week or something.
That certinally wouldnt encourage you to be green.

Indeed. I agree 100% with you there. It is the simple things that save energy such as turning down the thermostat by a few degrees and plugging out appliances at night. There is no need to be sitting in the dark all the time and making your quality of life significantly worse.

I watched this for the first time last week and it was ridiculous. The poor family who actually seem to be into it were living an awful life! The poor child got soaked and had to buy pyjamas to replace her clothes!

My family are very much into saving energy but we don't live like that! The show is going too far. The targets are too much.
