Advice on buying

    Hello all,

I'm hoping to canvas some opinions on whether people feel this is a good time to buy or not. For the last month or so I have been thinking about the possibility of jointly purchasing a 3 bed second hand property in and around the Dublin 8, 12 etc. area for around €340,000, hopefully a little less. However, such a thing becomes a little more complicated because they currently reside in England and any mortgage on their part would be secured from. Preliminary enquiries suggest that it would be possible for them to use the mortgage for purchase of a property here.

The plan is that they would stay in England for a couple of years, leaving the other 2 bedrooms to be rented out to supplement the repayments.

Any thoughts or advice on whether this is a good time?

    Thanks
