Have a fairly old laptop and the sound card is broken. Just wondering if anyone knows can it be fixed? Cheers.

You can get external ones that work through the usb port or ones that use the pcmcia slot.

Edit: Here's a usb external sound card.

when you say "broken", its just very unusual (but not unheard of) that the rest of the laptop is working perfectly! are you sure you might not just be missing the drivers or something very simple like that? hell even turn the sound up if theres a button for it before you go shelling out for a card that might not be worth it in the long run! how old is the laptop and what operating system is on it?
