Running XP on 1GB Macbook

    Hi,

I have a new Macbook with 1GB and hope to run XP on it too (either Parallels or VMWare - not sure yet which one).

I suspect I know the answer but I was wondering what the performance might be like. Has anyone has tried this on a 1GB Macbook? I will probably just get the memroy upgrade anyway but would be happy to hear from people's experiences on similar configuration (this is my first Apple Mac so still getting to know the ropes)

    thanks,

    Al

I haven't run xp with fusion with only 1 gb .... but I would say go for the memory upgrade whatever you do.

In my experience on PC based systems you're looking at needing 512mbs ram at least for XP (I find it to be a bit of a beast if you upgrade it with all the patches / service packs)

At the moment I run it on a MBP with 2gbs ram (I'll definitely be upgrading my machine to 4 gbs in the near future)

Try running XP with the free VirtualBox. Then get more RAM before prices go up too fast.

It runs ok. It would be better if you had at least 2gb though.
