I want to apply to do the postgraduate diploma in education in UCD and TCD.

If you look at the list on the left hand side of the pac.ie homepage, you will not see a link which will allow you to apply to UCD despite the fact that on the UCD School of Education website here it tells you to apply throught pac.ie

If you look at the list on the left hand side of the pac.ie homepage, you will see a link which allows you to apply to TCD despite the fact that on the TCD School of Education website here it tells you to apply via their own application form.

I am confused. Anyone know why this is the case or what i should do?

    Thanks.

You have been given no inaccruate - only misleading! - information. You are just, understandably, approaching the PAC site in the wrong way. When you go on there you will see these links on the left of the page:

    Postgrad. Diploma in Ed.
    Dublin City University
    University College Cork
    NUI Galway
    NUI Maynooth
    Trinity College Dublin
    Public Health Nursing

The only link you need is the top one for the PGDE itself. This covers all the colleges (except TCD) for the PGDE. The actual college links below that refer to other post-grad courses in different areas in those colleges. If you want to apply, for example, for an MA in French or Economics in NUI Galway you'd go to the NUI Galway link and take it from there. But for the PGDE all colleges (except TCD) are dealt with under the PGDE link. This certainly should be a bit clearer for a newcomer to the site.

The PGDE in Trinity is done through the college and you'll need to look up their site and go to the Education department and request an application form from there. There's an address there to send off for an application form. They don't appear to do on-line applications.

As for the PGDE on the PAC site, the application process will not open until September (same I imagine applies to Trinity) anyway so you won't be able to apply now on that site but you can download information literature alright.
