    Hi all

I thought as a good project to start with networking that I would take
a network cable, and open it up then attach the wires to a network point
box to see if I can plug my computer into it.

So I would have a cable from my broadband modem, into the
back of the network box, then another cable out the front of the box into my computer and see if it works.

What I'd like to ask is, where can I learn how to split the cable open and
connect the wires correctly to the connectors insude the network point?

What do you think of this as a project? Is it safe?

    Thanks

    Barney
