Charging laptop from 12v battery (ie. car)

    Hi guys,
I want to be able to charge my laptop battery from my boat battery (same system as car)

I only realised that my laptop (Compaq M2000) is 18.5v input, so I need an inverter to step up the voltage

Now, I can just use a normal 12v => 230v inverter and plug in my normal home charger, but it seems a waste going 12v => 230v => 18.5v

Does anyone know if a more direct inverter from 12v => 18.5v can be bought?

Thanks in advance for any tips/links
