I've seen Halo Mjolnir armour for sale. The original suits are about $40k, theres a few companies doing repros of the originals for about $3500 and there's a crowd on ebay selling unpainted vacumolds of the individual armour panels for between $60 and $120 a pair (depending on the panel). The original armour used ice hockey pads or soft motorcross pads underneath them when being worn at shows and launch events.
The helmets are about $200-700 depending on who you get it from and how elaborate you want it (polycarbonate, gold-mirrored face shield with reinforcing indents anyone?).

There's also my favourite sfx armour company Nightmare Armour Studios who will build you anything you can dream up, and custom fit it to you. The "Sky suit" being my favourite.

The sky suit actually has an ACU layer! If you look at the gaps in the armour around the legs you'll see where they are (around the places you'd need to bend or flex)

I'd love to get a helmet made that is a bit futuristic but also has the war time look about it. like the nazi/swat/killzone suit for airsoft.

I wounder can you see out when the blue lights are on the lenses of that helmet too.

Apparently the led's are on a shielded ring outside the lens so you can see through them when they're on. I reckon it'd be like looking through coloured sunglasses though, everything would have a tinge of that colour.

I actually wore MotoCross armour at a skirmish and it lasted one game before I tore it off. Restricted my breathing somewhat and made it harder to run around as I overheated way too quickly.... I guess the modern war doctrine of manouever and speed over armoured infantry makes more sense in a summer skirmish.

I'd be the first to point out that I'm a fat, infit bastid though, so there is that as a factor too!

I used to do MotoCross a bit and, in fairness, the safety gear is good stuff. Especially if you're sick of the searing kiss of hot BBs;) And the chest piece makes you look bigger if you stick it under the BDUs!:o
