What is it with todays society, it is full of do-gooders and busy bodies.

Listen mate, you look after yourself, I'll look after myself.

If it is not censorship of speech, it is bloody adverts warning you how to tie your shoe laces, or how to cross the road with little Johnny.

    What a joke.

I agree, survival of the fittest is the best approach. If your offspring get run over and killed then its natures way of stopping you pro-create. Stupid people should not pro-create.

    Interesting point.

See the website bioethics.ie and you will notice one glaring mistake.

Namely, they don't want the plebs procreating at all.

They may be annoying, but we need the do-gooders and the right wing nutters too because they make the rest of us look so normal! ;)

OP, you should sign up to Eircom and save euros on your bill. You can then use that money for a break away with your sister.

Just like the girls in the ads. I heard they felt a lot better afterwards.

Some do-gooder will probably lend a hand with that, if they see you struggling in rush-hour traffic.

Tony Blair said it's terrible how do-gooder has become a term of abuse in our society, or words to that effect.

Bit pathetic when so many of us get wound up by 'do-gooders'. Its alot better than being selfish arse holes.

What's the alternative? A world full of do-evilers? Don't we want them thrown in jail, though?

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

Do gooders are selfish arse holes. Thats the point.

When they are doing good, suggesting carbon taxes and what not, such things are done for their benefit.

Consider the fact that do gooders will not do good unless in the presence of numerous others. Sure whats the point being a goodguy if no one else appreciates you.?

    Creeps.

Close down this bloody website or else make people pay for the sh*te they post, like many on this thread. Bloody do gooders, giving Irish people a free forum to chat on!

That cloak of invisibility must be great fun. What crazy things does Bono do when nobody else is there? I bet he throws solid gold top hats at dummies of starving children.

I don't getcha. So people only do good things if there is a personal benifit? If so, how does that make it worse than than the alternative: not doing good things so that you won't be percieved as an 'aging, hippy, liberal douchebag'?

Do gooders do lots of.....er.........good, so whats the problem.

If you haven't seen the movie Idiocracy, you need to.

Here's the introduction, which explains the natural result of all our "We'll do what we can to protect the stupid from themselves" policies.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=upyewL0oaWA

I think by 'do-gooders' and 'busybodies' he means all those people coming up with rules to make life better for ourselves. I mean, it's a wonder those of us in our thirties survived childhood, with lead-lined paint on our cribs, metal toys, bikes with no helmets, shooting rifles at 12, whatever.

    NTM

Dinner yesterday was a 10 ounce striploin.
Today it was the great hangover cure that is the McDonalds double cheeseburger.

I really think it's time the governement acted to curtail the spread of these do-gooders...a high profile public awareness advertisement campaign highlighting the issues of do-gooders and the possible threat to the sanity of the public at large from their meddling would be a good start...perhaps followed up with an informational DVD and accompanying glossy booklet setting out the issues in simple pictorial terms and bullet points for the people affected. It's a disgrace that the safety of the populace has been put at risk for so long without a public body being appointed to see what can be done to makes things even more awkward for the man in the street and the do-gooders alike...

On a cloudy day, Terry can eat whatever he/she* likes.
