We are now being ripped off on vegetable cooking oil because of motorists.

Last week Tesco & Lidl were selling vegitable oil for 69Ltr. Today it is now a shocking 99c a Ltr a shocking 43% rise in a few days. This is a disgrace for those that do not drive and only need it for cooking. Whose doing the rip off, is it the supermarkets? The government should step in and regulate this. With the price of a Barrel of oil rising this is obviously going to increase in proportion.

Obviously, since vegetable oil comes from vegetables, not a hole in the ground and has absolutely no connection to crude oil and it's refinement.

This is going to be a pain in the arse TBH.

The gap is closing, Its hardly worth it if you have to dispose of about 10 2Ltr containors everytime you need to top up.

Out of the frying pan into the petrol tank.

The day when someone gets caught siphoning it out of a car to fry an egg, that's when you'll know it's expensive.

It's no longer inverted so? hohoho :pac:

Anyway, everything will increase in price when fuel increases because tesco et al use fuel in trucks to put stuff on the shelf. Welcome to the recession.

What I was more angered by was the huge discrepancies in the sterling price and euro price in several high street shops.. fecking disgrace tbh. The price for an item of clothing was €10 more expensive than the sterling changeover. robbin' the dumb paddies.

They are only shooting themselves in the foot doing that. I know quite a few people that go to the high street shops in town, the very ones that display dual prices and rip us off, They try on stuff, take note of the size and then order them on line at a fraction of the price instead.

You've been using a convex mirror again, haven't you?

Time to make the switch to olive oil.

Although oil prices have been rising and this is reflected in the distribution network that shops use to get their goods, ships and trucks and whatnot. Still doesn't explain a 43% overnight price rise.

    Supply and demand?

Probably more greed related but if the demand for something goes up, so does the price.
