    http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/more_sport/article3987364.ece

He says in this basically that he wants to break the 100,000 mark and no stadium in england is big enough but because of the gaelic football pitch in croker,it would go to over 100,000 inc playing surface seating.

If it happens he would defo sell out, cause at least 30,000 Irish would go,probably more and then the British fans are always brialliant for turing out.

    50/50

depends on whether the infostructure i.e flights and boats could cope with the huge numbers of travelling fans and if they think fans would travel. They would also have to gauge the Irish intrest.

Aint no way this will ever happen (not for hatton anyway!!) This is bulls_hit talk from hattons camp and the only reason why croker is being mentioned is because hatton was in croker for one of the dubs games last summer. Someone obviously hasnt informed either hatton or his camp that the GAA hierarchy are well lets just say a wee bit fussy, anyway the logistics of an open air event just doesnt tie in with the GAA's diary - May-Sept is pretty much written off for the GAA diary and you would be nuts to try and attempt an open air event outside these months and thats even before somebody attempts to dangle the cash carrott for the GAA who lets face it simply dont need the money!!!

Id really love to be proved wrong on it because such an event would certainly open world title fights for our own lads

    Hmm..

    Croke Park events this summer:

Fri 30/05/08 Celine Dion with Special Guests Il Divo

To quote Kevin Keegan, I would love it, love it, if Hatton fought in Croke Park!!!

I would certainly pay top dollar to watch one of the most exciting and popular boxers in the last decade. Could you imagine there’ll be Union Jack's go lore all around Croke Park!!!! With all Rickys English support. Cant see the top hardcore GAA men being too happy!!!! And all the Irish would be going for Hatton

The fight won't happen at all IMO. Ricky was well beaten at the higher weight.
This would be a meaningless rematch. I would just about pay PPV, maybe but certainly not over €100 for a ticket.

i would pay 100 to see mayweather, most of us will never be able to say we seen him live! although like you, i think this fight is meaningless and ricky would just get another beating!

I don’t want to go down the whole political route, and not for one second do I want Croke park to be painted with Union Jacks, but lets face it if Hatton fights in Croke he will bring his legion of British fans who always deck venues out with their flags, which they are more than entitled to do.

Going back to my statement made earlier, the hardcore GAA men who hate to see Croke Park decked out with Union Jack, and that’s the bit I find funny.

I myself, a proud Irishman would be cheering Ricky on all the way, couldn’t care less if he fought under a flag that included all the colours from the rainbow!!!! Hope the fight goes ahead, and if it does I’ll be there

Can't see it happening, just really can't.

The main reason being that I don't think the rematch is ever going to happen. You'd have to pay Floyd a truckload of money, which means Pay-Per-View on USA prime-time, which means a 4am fight.

On the GAA thing, I don't think it would get that far, but if it did, it would have to be summer 2009 before the fight could be made I'd say. Yea they'd hate to see all the Union Jacks, but I'm sure they would be pretty happy sitting on another mountain of money as all the English fans go home disappointed after seeing their man get knocked out again, and more than likely retire after.

I wouldn't pay the bus fare to see that match. A total con it would be, with Hatton, again, getting whupped....

Would love to see this happen.........it would sell out from Irish people alone........it would be one of the biggest events Ireland has ever hosted.......it would be amazing and I would pay over €100 for a ticket no probs.

I think it would be a huge event alright, and it would be very hard to turn down seeing Floyd in the flesh in Croke Park...

... but it's pure fantasy if you ask me

Just can't see Mayweather fighting outside of the states for such a big fight, anyways I think he is a bit too big for Hatton. One point maybe somebody can clear up for me I watched a tiny bit of at home with the hattons the other night and it said that ( i think it said anyway) Ricky was carrying 2 stone and this was around march. Does he seriously still go up and down so much in wait I thought he would have learned from it before. 2 Stone for a 10 stoner is a massive weight, in that past i read that he was up 3 1/2 stone at one stage but that was a good while back.
Sadly I dont think that fight will even happen again States or not. Also I've read that Mayweather is always a pound or two from his target weight at all times, just think Ricky is getting on in his career to be still yoyoing in weight.

No way would i pay a 100 euros to see Hatton get whipped in another one-sided contest.

I watcched that and to be honest, I don't think it was March. The documentary was all over the place time wise. ITV4 did a documentary last night about Hattons life and it too was a bit all over the place chronologically.

No way Hatton was 12 stone 10 weeks before his bout....

    Although, it's not an impossibility....

2 stone in 10 weeks doesnt seem thats much really, well in Hattons case who balloons up. Alot of that can be done safely... not thats its safe or healthy to go up in weight so much immediatly and repeat alot.
Regading the fight, Ive paid €100 to see a few cards in the point and stadium etc so Id shell out that to see the best fighter on the planet put on a display. Boxing tickets are ridiculously prices though
Would love to see it happen. wonder what the odds of it been a 10 stone fight would be?

id prefer if they kept it in britain tbh..... ya know what the brits are like, if they are loseing they riot. wouldnt want our lovely stadium and city center overrun by thugs and scum.

I think that's a huuuuuge generalisation man, relax, it's not football, I think British boxing fans are a knowledgeable and decent crowd.
