I Am New To This And Am Trying To Get Some Advice Or Hear What Has Happened To Others. I Travelled From Beijing Paris Dublin And When I Arrived In Dublin My Bag Was Missing. That Was 5 Jan 08. Since Then No Bag Has Been Returned. I Have Ofcourse Gone Through The Correct Channels And Filled The Correct Papers. I Have Gotten One Call From A <snip> In Aerlingus And A Few Emails From Her. She Offerd €630 And A Voucher For€350 Approximately. I Am Not Particularily Happy With The Voucher As It Will Probably Be Out Of Date Before I Can Use It. And I Cannot Get Any Information From Her As The Phone No. Quoted Has Never Ever Answered. And When I Send Emails To Her With Questions About Three Weeks Pass Before I Get A Response Saying Sorry For The Delay But I Was Out Of The Office For Two Weeks Due To Ill Health. I Have Gotten About Three Of These Emails From Her. And In Each She Completely Ignores Anything Which I Had Said In My Emails. This Lets Me Believe That Nobody Has Even Read My Emails.

Has Anybody Else Got The Same Treatment. I Would Love To Know.

    Tadhg

    1) Welcome to boards.ie

    2) I see you've posted the same thing across a couple of different internet forums - probably not so good - especially when you do it all in capital letters! :)

    3) Don't drag up threads from 2005. I've split this off into a new one :)

    4) Don't name individuals.

    5) The offer, I'm assuming is €630 in cash and a voucher? If so, for your average case this isn't that far off the mark. You can keep pushing and see if they will convert the voucher into cash too, but I doubt it.

1 Whats Wrong With Posting On Different Forum Sites.

2 Whats Wrong With Mentioning A Name, When I Am Stating Facts. Do I Have To Keep My Affairs Secret She Never Told Me "dont Tell This To Anyone Else", Did She.

3 Whats Wrong With Using Capital Letters If I Prefer To Do So.

4 Love The Fact That You Like To Use A Lot Of Numbers

    5 Thanks For The Advice.

If thats the tone you take when you communicate with Aer Lingus its no wonder they have no interest in getting your bag back. They probably have burned it:p

'Cause it's bloody irritating to read - in fact it's worse then people who capitalise all their text. And if you irritate people you might not get many responses to your OP except complaints about your bad grammer.

To quote another poster somewhere else on boards.ie: "My eyes, my eyes!".

Indeed, I have to agree with the others - if this is how you've been dealing with Aer Lingus, I'd be in no hurry to respond to your "enquiries" either.

yes i am sure my tone has an awful lot to do with my absent bag. note i have learned to switch off my CAPSLOCK for those anal anoracks. (for americans- sad person=anorack(americans dont know very much)) just for the sadness i think i will use one of you little graphic facial cartoon expressions to illustrate the utter sadness of these forums that actually add nor offer absolutely no advice just like to talk about travelling. my god fill your time with something productive smiley face coming now.....:D

the use of capital letters is not considered grammer. grammer has the meaning of tense, and usage of the language. and in the typed form the space between words. uk two after a full stop us one after the full stop. capital letters as bad manners in emails is something invented by a silly sitcom from america adoped as mainstream acceptance because it was seen as a fasionable comment or statment to make to people. you sill silly PEOPLE.

So, what you're saying is, you only capitalised because it because it was done in an American sitcom and you thought it was fashionable...?

The point of grammar is to aid comprehension, not look good or bad, hence the fact that I may have misunderstood your post.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

BuffyBot, tadhgmorris is now doing no more than stirring the ****. Can you make him go away? Or at least close this unproductive thread?

[Edit: interesting to note that there is a bot at work which censors a word that Irish people use quite a lot!]

THE USE OF THESE SMILEY EXPRESSIONS IS JUST OUTLANDISH. ARE YE ALL ABOUT TWELVE YEARS OF AGE. AND LISTING OFF ITEMS AS IF YOUR SOMETHING OH MY GOD. OR YOU WOULD PROBABLY HAVE SOME KIND OF Acronym FOR THAT WOULD YOU. BUT YOU PROBABLY HAVN'T SPOKEN TO TOO MANY PEOPLE THIS WEEK SO THE USE OF NUMBERED LIST OF INSTRUCTIONS TO NAMELESS PEOPLE HELPS YOU THROUGH THE DAY. GO ON NOW WITH YOURSELF POP THAT LITTLE PILL OF ANTIDEPRESSANT AND SEND MORE EMPTY MESSAGES TO THE MASSES. F*UCK H*LE
