I have an inline europlug/shuko type socket which I wish to wire onto a short lead an BS1363 plug on the other end, so I can plug a device with a shuko into this.

I've read that shuko sockets are non polarised so it does not matter which is neutral or live, but seeing as I'm wiring it from an Irish plug at the other end will this still be the case? There are no indications inside the inline socket apart from earth on the terminals.

    Do not disregard.
The live should be on the right hand side as you look at the face of the socket. If not, the appliance may well work correctly but could be dangerous in the event of a fault.

I did indeed wire it that way, found that on another website
